Introduction to BBC iPlayer

Watch or listen to live BBC TV or Radio or – even better, why not catch up on the last 7 days of any BBC programmes that you have missed.

If you know the name of a programme that has been on in the last week – just type it into the search box.

But how about something new? Both the iPlayer website and app for tablets and smart phones are designed to help you look for something new like a drama or comedy if that’s what you feel like.

Take the time to work out how to use it and you will be able to enjoy the best programmes when it suits you.

iPlayer

Why not share a programme with your friends? Just copy the URL (from the address bar) then paste it into an email. You will be sending a ‘link’ that will open the iPlayer webpage so it is easy to watch or listen to that TV or radio programme.

If the programme was on over 7 days ago (and no longer stored in iPlayer) you can search for it in Google to find where it may be still be available - often on the www.bbc.co.uk/programmes website (bbc.co.uk/programmes is a new project which aims to ensure that every programme the BBC broadcasts has a permanent, findable web presence).
